Playboy Must Pay $6 Million to Fired Whistleblower
Thu Mar 6, 2014
In reply to: Susie-630707 #15 Had a similar problem at my old job. After entering the company, I discovered that a "long time" with the company was 2 years. The CEO apparently did not like keeping employees with him over 2 years so, if you made it that long, a target would be painted on you. St …
Note left for female pilot: Cockpit 'no place for a woman'
Wed Mar 5, 2014
In reply to: Victor Vaccaro #175 Exactly. Discrimination is a daily thing in many workplaces. I'm a supervisor to 20 men that frankly think I should be seen and not heard, without a single mote of intelligence to my name. I get asked daily "when are you getting married? when are you having kids …
Comedian live tweets her father's death
Fri Feb 28, 2014
In reply to: Samantha-1008628 #29.4 When my mother was dying very painfully of cancer, there was not much reassuring left to do. My mother knew she was dying, would never get to my brother's wedding nor my college graduation. And I certainly didn't want to hear that "it will get easier" or "she's go …
Don't post my kid's photo on Facebook, parents plead
Tue Feb 18, 2014
While I understand the need to protect the children, some parents go far over into the paranoia category when it comes to online. We have one family member that no one wants to give photos/information to (long story short: he's been written out of the family) so all of us have high security set …
Fake Blood and Blanks: Schools Stage Active Shooter Drills
Fri Feb 14, 2014
I fail to see how this is any different than any other live drill or program involving students, like Every 15 Minutes (drunk driving live program) or Emergency Response Simulations (volunteers of all ages are dressed as casualties/injuries and staged in an emergency situation). Students don't …
Missed a Call? 'One-Ring' Cell Phone Scam Could Cost You Money
Wed Feb 5, 2014
In reply to: Richard Reagan #2 I still agree with Brian P. Evans... If they wanted to talk to you, they would have left a voicemail.
U.S. abortion rate hits lowest level since 1973
Sun Feb 2, 2014
I think it would have made a much more interesting article if they had discussed (quantitatively) the numbers on contraceptive use and overall births. Having the comparison, aligned with the years listed, would have been a much clearer picture of factors contributing to this change and the overall t …
Missing girls found 15 miles from home after disappearing from sleepover
Tue Jan 28, 2014
Then how do you explain all the nuts in Florida that even Californians, like myself, shake our heads at? I think crazy is probably just universally everywhere.
Brain-dead teen to remain on life support pending appeal by family
Mon Dec 30, 2013
I'm both religious and believe in science... Science tells me she is never coming back and that they should take her off the machines, brain-dead is dead.
Time, options running out for family of Jahi McMath
Mon Dec 30, 2013
That's a little different as the woman, who is brain dead, is pregnant with a healthy child. Ending life support on the mother would kill the viable child.
